Laxity or skin relaxing is an aging sign, caused by skin firmness and elasticity loss.
In order to understand the skin aging phenomena it is necessary to know the skin components, the layers and active role substances in the aging process.
The skin is an organ composed of several types of tissues, whose function is to cover the human body, the protection and the connection with the external environment. The total area of the skin in an adult, although there are variations according to the size, age and sex, is 1,5-1,8 m2, while the average thickness is between 1,5-4 mm.
The structure of the skin consists of three layers from the outside to the inside:
EPIDERMIS – the outer layer, having mainly a protective function;
DERM – located beneath the epidermis, is a connective tissue rich in vessels and nerves, consists of two layers that differ in thickness and the distribution of connective tissue fibers.The main function is the synthesis of substances useful for the production of new tissues as well as the material and nutritional support for the outer layers.With age, collagen begins to decrease as weight, leading to loss of tone and elasticity, and thus causing the apparition of wrinkles.
HYPODERMIS – the deepest skin layer made up of connective tissue, which does not have a clear boundary between the dermis and the underlying fat layer, with mechanical protection and thermal insulation function, richly innervated and vascularized.
COLLAGEN, ELASTIN, FUNDAMENTAL SUBSTANCE
Collagen – is a structural protein, the fibrous element of the skin, responsible for the mechanical protection of the body, skin health, prevention of skin dehydration, maintenance of elasticity and firmness of the skin, slowing of wrinkle development.
Elastin – is a fibrous protein, which deals with the elasticity of tissues; the turnover of elastin is extremely low, the life cycle approaching the very age of the body. Our body synthesizes elastin for up to 20 years of age. With age, the skin gradually loses its elasticity because the damaged elastin is not replaced or is replaced by non-functional fibers.
The fundamental substance is the part of the extracellular matrix that regulates the amount of water in the skin and has the supportive function, maintaining hydration, skin elasticity.
It is responsible for the turgidity of the dermis as well as for its elasticity.
Cutaneous laxity is a progressive deterioration over time, which depends on the body’s ability to respond to environmental changes.
MAINTAINING SKIN FIRMNESS
Nothing can be done against aging caused by intrinsic factors, but you can age gracefully, eliminating those extrinsic factors that favor skin degeneration, and start a personalized anti-aging prophylaxis program.
The photoaging phenomenon is a biological process by which sun exposure leads to premature and deep aging of the skin, through the penetration of the skin to the deepest structures, generating free radicals that are actually “biological bombs” that destroy cells, which leads to the formation of premature wrinkles, loss of elasticity, changes in texture, skin pigmentation and sometimes tumors.
HOW TO TREAT SKIN LAXITY?
Currently, the newest and most modern protocols to treat cutaneous laxity involve 2 procedures that complement and potentiate each other: MESOTHERAPY (RRS SILISORG, RRS SILISORG HA, RRS SILISORG TENSOR) together with PRP THERAPY.
The first step is, of course, a consultation session where a local exam will be conducted, as well as a thorough anamnesis with respect to the medical past, lifestyle, diet, etc. and the options of a personalized treatment will be discussed in detail.
Treatments for cutaneous laxity, both mesotherapy and PRP therapy, are injectable, non-surgical treatments that are done with local skin cream anesthesia, do not require hospitalization, do not require recovery or discontinue the usual daily rhythm.
The duration of treatment is between 30-45 minutes, it is painless and does not leave visible traces on the face.
Mesotherapy can be done manually with the syringe or using a special gun with which the active substances are delivered to the desired depth in the skin.
RRS SILISORG – is a cocktail that contains as an active substance organic silicon, is injected into the dermis for the treatment of skin laxity in the face area, the internal side of arms and thighs, the back of the hands, the periumbilical area, abdominal stretch marks.
RRS SILIRORG HA – Cocktail containing organic silicon and non reticulated hyaluronic acid to rejuvenate the skin exposed to sun and UV, for more delicate areas such as the periocular area, neck area, neckline;
RRS SILISORG TENSOR – Organic silicone cocktail and DMAE for the treatment of skin laxity and signs of aging of skin exposed to sun and UV, generally the indication is for the mature skin, the average age being over 45.
FREQUENCY of treatments is once a week; the protocol requires 4-6 sessions
Maintenance of the effect – it is done by repeating the treatment 1-3 times a year, on a case-by-case basis;
PRP THERAPY – is a method of stimulating the regeneration process of the skin by the local introduction of the platelet enriched plasma injection, which has the effect of blurring hyperpigmentation and photoaging signs.
Frequency of treatment is done once every 3-4 weeks, 3 sessions twice a year.
